Why Gedera

Gedera Coin takes its name from Gedera, a city in central Israel long known as the heart of the country's citrus industry. For generations, the region's groves connected growers, traders, and communities through something simple: a harvest worth sharing.

We built Gedera Coin on the same idea. Not a coin invented in the abstract, but one grounded in a real place, a real history, and a community that already understands what it means to grow something valuable together.

What we're building

Gedera Coin is a digital currency designed to move value the way a good harvest moves through a community — fast, fairly, and openly. That means low fees, borderless transfers, and a network anyone can verify.

We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We're building a currency people actually want to use — for payments, for community initiatives, and eventually, for commerce tied back to the region that inspired it.

How we operate

Gedera Coin is a community-oriented project. Decisions about the roadmap, treasury use, and partnerships are made with input from the people who hold and use the coin, communicated openly through our official channels.

We publish updates, respond to community questions, and aim to be straightforward about both progress and setbacks. If something changes about how the project is run, we'll say so here and in our community channels.
